Victory Services Club wins Employee Engagement Award at Hospitality Assured Awards

The Victory Services Club (VSC) has been recognised for its commitment to its people after winning the Employee Engagement Award at the Hospitality Assured Awards, held at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London.

The award recognises organisations that demonstrate excellence in engaging, supporting and developing their employees while creating a culture that enables individuals and teams to thrive.

Over the past few years, the Club has invested significantly in its employee experience, introducing a new staff canteen, changing rooms and multi-faith room, alongside enhanced training and development opportunities and a leadership approach focused on empowering employees and encouraging collaboration across departments.

Mark Field, General Manager of the Victory Services Club, said: “We are incredibly proud to receive this award. Employee engagement is about much more than policies or initiatives. It’s about creating an environment where people feel respected, listened to and able to contribute. Our team is the foundation of everything we do and this award recognises the culture we have worked hard to build together. We have focused on investing in our people, creating opportunities for development and ensuring colleagues feel valued and supported. To see those efforts recognised by Hospitality Assured is fantastic for the whole team.”

The latest accolade builds on a growing reputation for employee engagement and wellbeing at the Club. Last year, the VSC won the Best Staff Employee Wellness Award at the HR in Hospitality Awards, recognising its commitment to supporting colleagues through a range of wellbeing initiatives, including dedicated Mental Health and Menopause Champions, investment in staff facilities and a strong focus on creating a supportive workplace culture.

Max Lawrence, Director of Hospitality Assured, said: “The Victory Services Club continues to demonstrate what can be achieved when employee engagement is embedded throughout an organisation. During our assessment, we saw clear evidence of a people-first culture, strong leadership and colleagues who are genuinely invested in delivering exceptional experiences for members, guests and one another. What stood out was the pride employees take in the Club, the visibility of leadership and the commitment to continuous improvement. This award is a fitting recognition of the dedication shown by the entire team.”

The Club is a registered charity that re-invests revenue from commercial events to fund respite and reward breaks for injured or deserving members of the Armed Forces. Hospitality Assured recognised that this social mission is “deeply embedded within the culture of the organisation” and creates a strong sense of authenticity throughout the guest experience.
