A Party with a Purpose at Horwood House Hotel

2025 has seen the start of a concerted effort from the team at Horwood House Hotel & Spa to incorporate our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into our company psyche. Through working with our charities, local communities, schools, colleges and universities and, involving our team members, we are now on a journey that will improve and enhance our hotel, our guest experience, the local community, and our team’s wellness and retention.

Through engaging and working with young people…Looking after our environment with our bees, butterflies, orchard and planting projects…Supporting local charities with our signature, upcycling furniture, vintage tea sets and crisis coffee…And, when we say we are dog friendly, we mean it, Medical Detection Dogs are a popular charity with our staff and clients. Their Christmas cards this year will feature Rudi and Storm sitting in front of our fires and happily under our Christmas tree.

We recently showcased our Party with a Purpose for our client summer party and received such heartwarming, tremendous feedback: “What a wonderful evening! I had such a wonderful evening, meeting such lovely people and incredible charities up close and personal! As a result of yesterday‘s event I’m going to chat to Medical Detection Dogs to see what else we can do to raise their profile and to enable more people to benefit from their exceptional diagnosis dogs. Staying over more than one day? Skip room service and we shall donate to Crisis. Need an activity with a difference? Our Beekeepers can host an interactive experience with honey tasting or honey extraction. Fed-up with flat food? Our upcycled furniture displays are a fabulous talking point. Looking for food to feast all your senses, our award-winning Chefs source local suppliers, especially the butchers, just down the road! Coffee breaks boring? Not at Horwood House, we donate 15% of coffee sales in our Crisis Lounge to Crisis, and you can welcome our tail wagging friends from Medical Detection Dogs or enjoy a talk on bees and taste the honey our happy little buzzers produce to add some wellbeing to your breaks.
